Winter cocktails to try and taste

Heartwarming Glühwein

Ingredients for 4 people:

1 bottle of red wine (750 ml)
180 ml water
1 half orange in slices
50 gr sugar
20 cloves
2 star anise
2 cinnamon sticks

Heat the water and sugar until completely dissolved. Then lower the heat and add the cloves, star anise, cinnamon and orange slices. Simmer until the mixture has reduced to a syrup. Turn the heat to the lowest setting and add the wine. Let steep for 20 min and serve with a slice of orange and some star anise.

The perfect Irish Coffee

Ingredients for 1 glass:

50 ml whiskey
200 ml strong coffee
1 tsp cane sugar
40 ml whole cream

Heat the glass or bag with warm water. Pour off the water and add 1 tsp brown sugar and a dash of whiskey. Then fill the glass to 1 cm from the rim with coffee and mix with a long spoon until the sugar is dissolved. Carefully pour the cream over the rounded side of a spoon (just above the coffee) to create a cream layer.

Warm mojito with a twist

Ingredients for 4 people:

8 tbsp fresh mint leaves
8 tsp candy sugar
4 bags of black tea (Earl Grey)
220 ml rum
4 tbsp lime juice

Pour 1 liter of boiling water with the mint, sugar and tea bags into a large teapot or heatproof carafe. Let steep for a few minutes. Remove the tea bags and add the rum and lime juice. Serve and finish with sprigs of mint and a slice of lime.
